> ## Agent Instructions
> Call them jobs, not postings, listings, or roles.
> To act for an employer, connect to the MCP server at https://mcp.hotfix.jobs/hiring and sign in with a Hotfix account. API keys are for HTTP scripts, not MCP.
> Only describe the routes, tools, and numbers these docs publish. If something isn't documented, say so instead of guessing.
> Webhooks are managed in the app under Settings > Connections > Webhooks. An API key or MCP client can't create or change them.
> Hotfix is the applicant tracking system. Applications land on the job in Hotfix and aren't sent to another ATS.
> Creating a draft, offer, or booking link sends nothing. A person sends the email from Hotfix.

# Set up your company

> Create your company on Hotfix, then set up its profile, careers page, emails, team, and calendar by asking your agent.

## Create your company

Start on the web: Hotfix for Mac doesn't create a company yet. Click **Start free** on [hotfix.jobs](https://hotfix.jobs). Onboarding has three steps:

1. **Your company**, on Free unless you picked a paid plan on [pricing](https://hotfix.jobs/pricing). A Free company needs a verified work email on the same domain as its website. A personal email can still start a paid plan.
2. **How many jobs** you'll keep open, which picks your plan. See [Plans and billing](https://docs.hotfix.jobs/account/billing.md).
3. **Where you'll work**: Hotfix for Mac, Claude or ChatGPT, or the web.

Within a few minutes Hotfix fills in your profile from your website: your headline, description, size, funding stage, tech stack, benefits, and the rest, plus your logo. It only fills empty fields, so anything you type first stays. Check it before candidates see it: in **Settings** > **Company** each filled field says **From your website** until you save the profile or click **Looks right**, or ask your agent to check it with you.

## Set up the rest by asking

Once your company exists, [install Hotfix for Mac](https://docs.hotfix.jobs/start/install.md) or [add Hotfix to Claude or ChatGPT](https://docs.hotfix.jobs/ways/claude-and-chatgpt.md), and ask your agent to set up hiring. It goes one part at a time, skips what's done, shows each change, and saves nothing until you say yes.

| Ask | What it does |
| - | - |
| Check our company profile | Shows what Hotfix filled in from your website and saves what you fix or confirm |
| Write an opening for our careers page | Writes the text above every job post, and a closing below it if you want one |
| Make our decline email ours | Rewrites Hotfix's Decline email, warm, short, and honest |
| Invite [ana@beacon.dev](mailto:ana@beacon.dev) as a member and [jon@beacon.dev](mailto:jon@beacon.dev) as an interviewer | Shows who gets an invite and as what, then sends it on your yes |
| Keep closed applications for 12 months | Says how many would be deleted tonight, then sets it on your yes |

It uses the [setting-up skill](https://docs.hotfix.jobs/hiring-mcp/skills.md). In Hotfix for Mac, **Getting started** in the sidebar lists what's left, with a button for each.

## Your careers page

Every company has a careers page on Hotfix at `hotfix.jobs/companies/{slug}`: your About, every open job by department and team, your tech stack and perks. See [Company page](https://docs.hotfix.jobs/company-page.md).

## Your emails

Hotfix sends five emails of its own at fixed moments: **Decline**, **Interview invite**, **Offer**, **Application received**, and **Position closed**. You can change any of them and keep your own, like a take-home or a reference check. See [Email candidates](https://docs.hotfix.jobs/hiring/email.md).

Mail goes out through Hotfix from your company's address on Hotfix, as the person who pressed **Send**. Nobody connects a mailbox.

## Connect your calendar

Hotfix books each interview on the calendar of the person who sends the invite, so connect yours before you invite anyone to talk. Each person who books interviews connects their own, on the web under **Settings** > **Connections**:

* **Google Calendar:** sign in with Google and allow calendar access.
* **Microsoft 365:** sign in with your work Microsoft account and allow calendar access. If your organization's admin hasn't approved Hotfix yet, Microsoft asks them to, once.
* **Zoom**, if you'd rather meet there: one admin connection for the company.

Calendars are for interviews only; Hotfix never reads or sends your mail. Teammates you add to an interview get a calendar invite and don't need to connect theirs. One person can be on Google and another on Microsoft.

## What stays on the web

Your company's name and logo, billing, and connecting a calendar or Zoom are on the web under **Settings**. Everything else you can ask your agent for.
