> ## Agent Instructions
> Call them jobs, not postings, listings, or roles.
> To act for an employer, connect to the MCP server at https://mcp.hotfix.jobs/hiring and sign in with a Hotfix account. API keys are for HTTP scripts, not MCP.
> Only describe the routes, tools, and numbers these docs publish. If something isn't documented, say so instead of guessing.
> Webhooks are managed in the app under Settings > Connections > Webhooks. An API key or MCP client can't create or change them.
> Hotfix is the applicant tracking system. Applications land on the job in Hotfix and aren't sent to another ATS.
> Creating a draft, offer, or booking link sends nothing. A person sends the email from Hotfix.

# Review applicants

> Claude or ChatGPT reads every new application against what the job needs, quotes the person's own words, and suggests good fit, maybe, or not a fit.

Ask **Review the new people for Platform Engineer.** Your agent takes what the job needs from its description, reads every new application against the same things, and saves a review on each person. Your whole team sees the same review, so nobody reads the resume twice.

![A review of 14 applications for Platform Engineer: Ben, Priya, and Lena's reviews in one card, a tab each, with Ben's open](https://mintcdn.com/hotfix/0W4_fbSOZCG15YKb/images/app/review.png?fit=max\&auto=format\&n=0W4_fbSOZCG15YKb\&q=85\&s=add080f670467dd24e2ee0a547bab78d)

## What a review says

Each review is your agent's suggestion: **Good fit**, **Maybe**, or **Not a fit**, then a short write-up shaped to the person:

* a plain first sentence on who they are, which lists and Home show
* how they meet what the job needs, in their own words, quoted from their resume or answers
* the main gap, and what to ask them

Hotfix checks every quote against what the person sent and won't save a review with a quote that isn't there. A good fit is quoted at least once. A clear no can be two sentences.

Senior platform engineer at Ramp for five years, after three at a Series B
fintech. They've run production Kubernetes at real scale and own on-call for
payments, which is most of this role.

- **Kubernetes in production**
  > Ran 40 production clusters on EKS at Ramp since 2019
- **Terraform**: not shown. They may use another tool; worth asking.

Worth a first call. Ask how they manage infrastructure config today.
```
## What it never does
* **No scores, ranks, or percentages.** Never for a person.
* **It moves nobody.** A review doesn't change anyone's status. You decide who to talk to and who to decline.
* **It doesn't guess.** Nothing about age, gender, or anything like them is weighed or guessed. It calls people by name and says "they".
## What Hotfix points out
* **Matching text.** When an application shares text word for word with another one to the same job, Hotfix says so, and your agent mentions it in the review. A match is a fact to report, not proof of anything.
* **Text addressed to an AI.** When a resume or answer tells an AI to rate, rank, or ignore its instructions, Hotfix flags it, and your agent doesn't follow it.
## After the review
Your agent lists the good fits, the maybes, and those not a fit, one line each, and asks who to invite. Pick with a click.
When the choice is between a few people, or you ask to compare them, it shows their reviews in one card, a tab each, and says what sets them apart. **Open** opens whoever is showing. Inviting goes to [Interview candidates](https://docs.hotfix.jobs/hiring/interview.md); declining to [Email candidates](https://docs.hotfix.jobs/hiring/email.md).
If you decline several people for the same gap, it suggests adding that gap to the job's **What you'll need**, so the next review uses it.
## Every evening, on its own
Set up **Review new applicants** in [Scheduled](https://docs.hotfix.jobs/app/scheduled.md), and Hotfix reviews new people each evening and drafts declines for anyone who isn't a fit, ready for you to send.
## Where reviews show
* In the app, **Review** on the card after a review opens the job's reviews in a tab: everyone's suggestion and first sentence, to filter and open one at a time. A person's page opens on their review.
* On the web, a person's page shows the review first.
