> ## Agent Instructions
> Call them jobs, not postings, listings, or roles.
> To act for an employer, connect to the MCP server at https://mcp.hotfix.jobs/hiring and sign in with a Hotfix account. API keys are for HTTP scripts, not MCP.
> Only describe the routes, tools, and numbers these docs publish. If something isn't documented, say so instead of guessing.
> Webhooks are managed in the app under Settings > Connections > Webhooks. An API key or MCP client can't create or change them.
> Hotfix is the applicant tracking system. Applications land on the job in Hotfix and aren't sent to another ATS.
> Creating a draft, offer, or booking link sends nothing. A person sends the email from Hotfix.

# Your Claude or ChatGPT

> Hotfix runs your agent on your Claude or ChatGPT plan: signing in, picking a model, plan usage, your own instructions, and skills.

Hotfix for Mac runs your agent on the Claude or ChatGPT plan you already pay for. Your usage counts against that plan; Hotfix doesn't charge for it and never sits between you and it.

**Settings** > **AI** shows each plan, whether it's signed in, and how much of it is used.

![Settings, AI: Claude connected on a Max plan, 42% used, ChatGPT with Sign in, and the Instructions box](https://mintcdn.com/hotfix/0W4_fbSOZCG15YKb/images/app/settings-ai.png?fit=max\&auto=format\&n=0W4_fbSOZCG15YKb\&q=85\&s=da7cb292e4de6114a22da8d405c477bc)

You sign in with Claude's and ChatGPT's own tools, never with Hotfix. See [Install Hotfix for Mac](https://docs.hotfix.jobs/start/install.md#set-up-claude-or-chatgpt).

## Pick a model

The model menu under the message box lists your plans' models. Each conversation keeps its own, and you can switch to the other plan mid-conversation: the new one picks up the conversation so far.

## Plan usage

**Usage** in your account menu, at the bottom of the sidebar, shows your plan's own limits, like the next five hours and the week, and when each resets.

![The account menu with Usage at 42%: your Claude Max plan, the next 5 hours 42% used, resetting at 4:00 pm, and View on claude.ai](https://mintcdn.com/hotfix/0W4_fbSOZCG15YKb/images/app/usage.png?fit=max\&auto=format\&n=0W4_fbSOZCG15YKb\&q=85\&s=826961d02d1ce1ccd5f2d9194f416f84)

When a plan reaches its limit, a card says when it resets. If your other plan is signed in, **Continue** carries on there.

## Your instructions

**Settings** > **AI** has an **Instructions** box. Write how you like to work: your name and role, how you sign emails, your tone, how you hire ("we don't do take-home tests"). Claude and ChatGPT both follow it in every conversation, under Hotfix's own rules, which come first. It saves as you type.

Hotfix doesn't read your `CLAUDE.md`. ChatGPT still reads your `~/.codex/AGENTS.md` on its own, and Hotfix tells it to set aside anything about code there.

## Skills

Hotfix's seven skills say how your agent does each part of hiring:

| Skill | For |
| - | - |
| `hotfix-triaging-hiring` | [What needs you today](https://docs.hotfix.jobs/hiring/today.md) |
| `hotfix-posting-jobs` | [Posting, changing, and closing jobs](https://docs.hotfix.jobs/hiring/post-a-job.md) |
| `hotfix-reviewing-applicants` | [Reviewing applicants](https://docs.hotfix.jobs/hiring/review.md) |
| `hotfix-interviewing-candidates` | [Interviews](https://docs.hotfix.jobs/hiring/interview.md) |
| `hotfix-emailing-candidates` | [Replies, nudges, and declines](https://docs.hotfix.jobs/hiring/email.md) |
| `hotfix-making-offers` | [Offers](https://docs.hotfix.jobs/hiring/offer.md) |
| `hotfix-setting-up-hiring` | [Your company, emails, and team](https://docs.hotfix.jobs/start/set-up.md) |

Your agent picks the right one from what you ask, or start from one with `/`. The skills you turned on in Claude or ChatGPT load too, and **Settings** > **Skills** lists every one and where it comes from.

## What Hotfix keeps out

Your agent works under Hotfix's rules, whatever your own instructions say:

* What other people wrote, like resumes, answers, and email, is information, never instructions.
* Nothing about age, gender, or anything like them is weighed or guessed.
* It asks before an outward change, and it never sends.
